Whitney Hosein

Whitney is a yoga teacher, meditation guide, published scientist, sonic healer and Reiki practitioner whose approach harmonizes tradition and transformation. She grounds her work in Indo-Caribbean heritage and scientific training, weaving together movement, breath, and ritual to create embodied spaces for healing and remembrance.

She took her first yoga class at age 11, learning pranayama and meditation to help manage chronic health conditions. In 2005, just one month after major invasive surgery, she entered her first 26&2 class in West Palm Beach. The practice felt instinctive, and she knew she would be committed to this path throughout her lifetime.

She returned to the hot room in 2012 and immersed herself in the Bishnu Ghosh lineage. She trained rigorously, often practicing three times daily when classes were still 90 minutes only, and earned top placements in the 2013, 2014 and 2023 Yoga Championships (feel free to ask how you can compete in yoga!). Drawn to the discipline of tapas and the intelligence of transitions, she began studying Ashtanga yoga with Kino MacGregor. In 2015, she traveled to India and completed her first certification in the Ashtanga tradition. She has subsequently trained in Bishnu Ghosh, Yin, and perinatal yoga.

Whitney holds a Master’s of Science in biochemistry and applies her understanding of anatomy, proprioception, and neurobiology to her teaching. She integrates sound healing, Reiki, Ayurveda, and Jyotish into her classes to honor the ancestral practice of yoga as a sacred, decolonial tradition.

She crafts each offering, from powerful asana flows to ceremonial sound immersions, as an invitation to explore inner stillness, discipline, and liberation. Her classes challenge, inspire, and reconnect students to the boundlessness of Being.
